This will be an introductory talk where we will explore the first example of a diagrammatic algebra. The main takeaway from this talk will be the ability to perform some concrete computations using these diagrammatic techniques. A particular focus will be made toward a future talk that will allow us to use these techniques to explore mapping class group representations.
