I am a Postdoctoral Associate at the Network Dynamics and Simulation Science Laboratory, at the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute at Virginia Tech. For a more detailed description for what I'm currently working on at VBI, check here.

I began working with this research group at Los Alamos National Laboratory, 7300 ft up in the in Northern New Mexico Rockies, where I spent the summers of 2003 and 2004. If that sentence made you cringe, then you've probably heard too much biased propaganda, and you should read my article.

I received my M.A. and Ph.D. in mathematics from UCSB. I also have a B.S. in Mathematics from Harvey Mudd College, and a pretty certificate from spending a semester studying mathematics in Budapest, Hungary.

Next fall I will be an assistant professor of mathematical sciences (bioinformatics group) at Clemson University, in Clemson, SC. The Scientist (magazine) ranked Clemson #1 in their 2005 "Best Places to Work in Academia" survey, and then #3 in their 2007 survey (but #1 among universities). In 2008, Clemson finished 3rd in the "Top 10 Schools with the Happiest Students" survey.
