Back to my webpage.

I am very excited to be TA'ing 3C this summer.

Please check Dr. Moore's website regularly for updates:

Mathlab Hours : Monday-Thursday, 11-4PM, and Friday 11-3PM, South Hall 1607
(You can get math tutoring every day of the week from other tutors.)

Quizzes : There will be quizzes almost every week.
The goal of the quizzes is to 1. make sure you are learning the material, and 2. to give you feedback on your free response writing to better prepare you for the test. Here are three possible areas from which I might pull your quiz questions:
&mdash "Type questions" that demonstrate a specific method you must know for the test. These will be straightforward questions usually from the previous 2 days of lecture.
&mdash Old homework problems, specifically those for which it was possible to just guess the correct answer (multiple choice, etc). This is to encourage students not just to complete their homework, but to understand it. If I ask a previous homework question, I consider the fact that you have seen it before license to choose one of the harder ones.
&mdash Questions on the previous section's worksheet that we did not get to do. This is to encourage students to complete unfinished worksheets, or start them in advance of section so we can advance faster through the material.

WeBWork : http://webwork.math.ucsb.edu
If you get get an error when you try to generate a hardcopy, you can download the PDF by clicking the "Download Hardcopy" link at the bottom of the error list. It's on a line near the bottom that says... "A hardcopy file was generated, but it may not be complete or correct: Download Hardcopy"

Here is a list of functions that you can use in WeBWork:

You can also find a link to this list at the right of your screen when you are doing a problem set.

Here are the Worksheets for your sections:

Here are solutions to the worksheets: 3C Solutions.
Two notes:
1. I'm doing my best to get the rest of the sheets online, but I may or may not succeed in getting them all up.
2. When typing in Latex cutting and pasting code and being distracted by formating lead to mathematical errors and omissions, and you should keep be careful eye to check these solutions. Please bring any errors to my attention, and I will correct them as soon as I can.
3. There might be some differences between what was handed out and posted sheets because these were all preliminary versions of the worksheets. I tried to use the version handed out in section for the solutions guide.
