About me

UCSB
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California at Santa Barbara where I work in geometric group theory with Jon McCammond.

I grew up in the foothills of the Cascades (Issaquah, Washington). My undergraduate days were spent in the rolling hills of the Palouse (University of Idaho). One year was spent abroad in the Carpathian Valley, along the banks of the mighty Danube (Budapest Semesters in Mathematics). For the last five years I have lived in the "American Riviera" (University of California, Santa Barbara). In my spare time I enjoy gardening, cooking, long-distance running, and fermentation.

My research focus is geometric and combinatorial group theory, currently the fundamental group of the complement of complex reflection arrangements.

Related topics of interest include Artin groups, Coxeter groups, CAT(0) spaces, applied algebraic topology, configuration spaces, and mapping class groups.

My advisor, Jon McCammond keeps a website listing people and conferences related to geometric group theory.
