My office hours are MW 10-11 and Th 10:45-12 (after class)
in 6514 South Hall.
The TA is Chris Nowlin.
His office hours are T5-7 in Mathlab and W1-2 in 6431F South Hall.
The textbook is Gallian, Contemporary Abstract Algebra, Edition 6 or 7.
The plan is to cover Chapters 2-10.
Homework is due every Thursday in class.
The midterm is on Tuesday October 27 in class.
The final is on Wednesday December 11, 8:00(!)-11:00, in class.
The grade is HW + MT + Final = 20 + 40 + 40.
Midterm
The midterm is over. Congratulations.
Since it was on the "easy" side,
there will not be much "curving" of grades.
As a rough guide,
90% = A, 80% = B, 80% = B-, 70% = C.
Hope springs almost eternal:
if you did badly on the midterm and much better on the final,
I may ignore the midterm grade.
